One of the nice things about being an author is that you occasionally meet (mostly via email) other authors whose work you like. R. E. “Bob” McDermott and Jake Needham are two thriller writers I correspond with on artistic and practical authorial matters. I was intrigued that they both recommended I participate in a charitable giveaway called 25 For One. Jake Needham calls it A Great Deal Wrapped in a Good Deed. Jake explains why.

The Great Deal

“Twenty-five novels—that’s TWENTY-FIVE novels from twenty-five different authors that add up to OVER NINE THOUSAND PAGES of great reading—for just $9.99.

These are the twenty-five authors, in alphabetical order,  who have contributed books to 25 FOR ONE:

Tom Abrahams, Bobby Adair, Jay Allan, M.L. Banner, Richard Bard, D.V. Berkom, Russell Blake, Rhett Bruno, Rebecca Cantrell, Diane Capri, C.G. Cooper, Ian Graham, Franklin Horton, Christine Kling, Steven Konkoly, Anthony Melchiorri, R.E. McDermott, Murray McDonald, Jake Needham, A.R. Shaw, Tim Tigner, Michael Wallace, Andrew Watts, William H. Weber, and Simon Wood.

The Good Deed

Every single cent you pay for those twenty-five novels (after Amazon takes its 30% for selling the collection, of course) will be sent by Amazon directly to the ONE AMERICA APPEAL, a joint fundraising effort of five former U.S. Presidents, to provide hurricane relief in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

All of the design, layout, and production services required to produce this epic compilation of twenty-five novels were donated by people supporting our effort and all of the novels included were donated by the twenty-five authors.

So all of the sales revenue Amazon pays out will go to the relief effort in those areas hit hardest by the recent hurricanes.” (Thanks, Jake.)

I’ve not read all the authors featured in the giveaway, with Bob McDermott, Tim Tigner and Jake Needham the three whom I know. That trio alone is worth more than ten dollars, and you then have twenty-two freebies to pick and choose from—books that collectively sell for over one hundred dollars if purchased individually. It’s a heckuva deal which is why I’m sharing it with True Lies subscribers. Here’s what Bob McDermott has to say:

“This promotion ends on New Year’s Eve, so don’t delay. All the money (as in 100%) collected by One America will be passed directly to five local charities in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, bypassing some of the larger national charities that now seem to spend more on administrative costs and salaries than they do helping people in need.

To be clear, this bundle is a fantastic deal, even without the charitable aspect.” (Thanks, Bob.)

A Bunch of Falsehoods

My only regret is that I wasn’t able to contribute one of the Lies series. Which reminds me, if you haven’t yet purchased Pack of Lies, it’s only one click away on Amazon in either eBook or paperback format. Buy “Pack of Lies” on Amazon.

Have a great holiday season, and I’ll see you in 2018 with End of Lies where Bob Nolan takes on the Deep State steering US foreign policy from the shadows. Bob has been busy in the two years since Pack of Lies ended, and it’s now May, 2016 with a presidential election gearing up, covert activity emanating from Russia and a strangely quiet incumbent.
