Pack of Lies plugs along towards a 4Q publication date
I’m long overdue for an update. Pack of Lies is now with Beta readers who are providing big picture feedback on plot lines and characters. Later this week, I’ll amalgamate their feedback and start on a third draft. Then POL goes to a copy editor to knock the grammar and diction into final form. A short print run of final draft “advance reader copies” (ARCs) follows, and these will go to loyal fans (such as you guys, though I hope that most of you can read the book in e-format as it’s a lot simpler to provide) to read ahead of the formal launch in 4Q this year. In the meantime, I’m going to advertise Sea of Lies and hope that my experiments pay dividends when it comes time to release Pack of Lies.
In other news, son Max has How to Forge a Frogman in print in Singapore bookstores. It’s a journal of his experiences as a recruit in Singapore’s Naval Diving Unit (sort of like the SEALs, with Chinese catering). Check out his Facebook author page at Max West Author page and if you are Singapore-based, pop by Kinokuniya, Popular or Times bookshops for a copy. Max will also host signings in early July. Early sales have been very strong, so we’ll be raising his rent for the summer holidays. A frogstar is born!
